California 1-Day Sport Fishing License
- Required for anglers age 16 and older.
- The same 1-day license is available to residents and nonresidents.
- Valid for one specified day.
- A 2-day sport fishing license is also available.
- The license can be displayed through the official CDFW License App.
Nevada 1-Day Fishing Permit
- A fishing license is required for anglers age 12 and older.
- Resident and nonresident 1-day permits have different prices.
- Additional consecutive fishing days may be added.
- 2026 listed consecutive-day fees are $3 resident and $7 nonresident.
- Prices may include an additional processing fee at checkout.
How to Buy a California 1-Day Fishing License Online

Start on the official California Department of Fish and Wildlife Online License Sales and Services page and choose Customer Login / Register.
Enter the Angler's Date of Birth and Last Name
Enter the information for the person who will actually use the fishing license, then click Next.
Choose an Identity Type
Most first-time buyers will use a state driver's license or identification card. Returning customers who know their CDFW GO ID can use that instead.
Open “Purchase Licenses”
Once the customer profile has been created or located, select Purchase Licenses from the account menu.You can also see if you have an existing license look for "View my Active Licenses".
Select the 1-Day Sport Fishing License
Under Sport Fishing, find Sport Fishing 1-Day License (Res/Nonres). A 2-day option is listed directly below it.
Choose the Valid Date and Complete Checkout
After selecting the 1-Day Sport Fishing License, follow CDFW's prompts to choose the day the license will be valid, review the order, and complete payment. You'll recieve an email with a pdf of your licenses. Take a screenshot of this just in case but be sure to download the app to display the license digitally.

Open the Nevada Licensing Login
Start from the Nevada Department of Wildlife licensing system and choose the login option to access or create your customer account.
Enter Your Email and Password
Sign in with the email address and password connected to the angler's Nevada licensing account. New users should follow the account-creation prompts.
Choose “Buy Licenses”
After signing in, open the account purchasing area and choose Buy Licenses.
Answer the Nevada Residency Question
Answer the residency question accurately. Visiting anglers who do not qualify as Nevada residents should follow the nonresident path.
Select the Nonresident 1-Day Fishing License
If you are a nonresident fishing for one day, choose the nonresident 1-day fishing license shown in the available products.You can select multiple days if desired.
Review the License and Complete Checkout
