To name just a few; Truckee River (near Lake Tahoe), East Walker River, West Walker River, Upper Owens River, Lower Owens River, Hot Creek, and many more. Anytime you can make it out is a good time to go fishing as many of the places we fish are open year round. However, depending on water conditions we especially enjoy fishing in the early spring and fall.

We get asked this question a lot and we feel it’s worth mentioning here.

The short answer to this question is, that it depends. We understand every dog is different some are great fishing dogs and some, well, are not. We’d like to chat with you about it before we book the trip and if it seems like a fit we’re more than happy to have your furry friend along.  However, if you’re considering a Float Trip on the Truckee River the answer is no. The rafts we use are relatively small, and inflatable we do not allow dogs or studded boots on board. We can supply you with non-studded boots but the pup will have to sit this one out.

Yes! Our guides are licensed by The California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Current Fly Fishing holds liability insurance and all our guides are bonded. Our guides are also permitted by the Inyo National Forest and are able to take trips in select areas within the forest boundary.

Clients may cancel their trip with no penalty as late as one week before the trip. If a client cancels within one week of the trip Current Fly Fishing can charge up to half of the trips value. However, we would much prefer to reschedule the trip for a later date and when a cancelation fee is charged it is held as a credit towards the next trip booked. Wind and weather is not a reason for cancelling although we are flexible when the situation allows.
